On April 26, 2025, the Floyd family came together for our annual reunion, a cherished tradition that began in 1953. This year’s gathering was a heartwarming blend of laughter, love, and legacy, as we celebrated our shared roots and created new memories to carry forward. Held at the Woodbine Lions Club in Woodbine, Georgia, the afternoon was filled with visiting, heartfelt moments, and the kind of warmth only family can bring. Here’s a debrief of the unforgettable Floyd Family Reunion 2025!
A Day Packed with Joyful Activities
The reunion kicked off with a welcomed gathering at the Lions Club, where cousins, aunts, uncles, and new additions to the family mingled over family pictures and memorabilia.
The kids played tag, while the next generation competed in an athletic casting on the monkey bars. Adults caught up during the “Floyd Family Pin Your Leaf on the Tree” game, where all family members completed to see which branch had the most leaves.
Food, Fellowship, and Fun
No Floyd reunion is complete without a feast, and 2025 was no exception. The potluck spread was a culinary smorgasbord, featuring a sundry selection of salads, fried chicken, and a dessert table that could rival any bakery. The kids’ table was abuzz with chatter, while the elders swapped stories of “back in the day”.
Honoring Our Roots
As always, the reunion was a time to honor the legacy of our family. After feasting, we gathered for a family meeting. Here we shared regards on those who had passed as well as welcoming new additions into the family.

We also celebrated the 200th anniversary of Marquis de Lafayette 24 State Tour in 1824 to the United States by the reading of two letters from Charles Rinaldo Floyd to his father General John Floyd about Lafayette visit to New York.
Reports were provided by the secretary and treasurer and lastly we wrapped up the family meeting with a discussion on next steps with preserving the family cemetery. The minutes from the meeting will soon be made available.
Looking Ahead
The Floyd Family Reunion 2025 was a joyful gathering and a valued commitment to stay connected. Stay tuned for plans for next year’s reunion.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this year’s event possible, from the organizers to the cooks, and every family member who showed up with a smile.
